Mia Babb

After completing an Art Foundation Course at college, Mia took a year out to earn some money for University, but ended up pursuing a varied career. During this time she completed a BA in art history through the Open University but, after becoming a mother, had very little time for indulging in art. This changed in 2019 when she suffered a stroke during brain surgery and turned to her previous favourite medium Pen & Ink to re-train her right arm which had been temporarily paralysed. She draws a wide variety of subjects including butterflies, birds and skulls - she loves capturing detail. The Pen & Ink is often embellished with gold leaf and occasionally watercolour is included. Her black and white drawings are then worked on in Photoshop to give them backgrounds for colourful print versions of her originals.
